Increase connection, well-being and fulfilment of residents by empowering them to use the internet, digital devices and technology, increasing their knowledge and self-confidence.
Flexible days and times (we ask for a commitment of 2 hours each week).
Report back to the IT team to discuss issues resolved or requiring escalation to be logged onto the IT helpdesk system for future reference.
Offer general advice to residents using computers, tablets & smartphones on things like:
- Navigating the internet safely
- Downloading and using apps
- Connecting to private/home Wi-Fi and communal/public Wi-Fi
- Using Email safely (e.g. detecting Spam/Phishing emails)
- Guidance on cold callers and bad actors (People impersonating someone else or another organisation).

We don’t want finances to be a barrier to contribution. Reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, such as travel from your home to your volunteering location, will be reimbursed.
This role is subject to enhanced DBS Check, which will be carried out by St Monica Trust. We are committed to value equality and diversity in every aspect of St Monica Trust life.
Volunteers will NOT be expected to undertake any personal care tasks; have any involvement in medication; conduct manual handling tasks without prior training and authorisation.
