Job Purpose: The Senior Hospitality Assistants work closely with the Chef (Care Home) to prepare and cook food for residents in our care homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily food and drinks service across the care home, including cooking, preparing snacks, and finishing food prepared externally.
  • Assist the Chef to ensure quality, timing, and compliance with dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Deputise for the Chef, including cooking meals in the absence of the Chef.
  • Support residents with food presentation and plating.
  • Conduct daily checks on food temperature, labelling, and allergens.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • Manage stock, including rotation and ordering.
  • Close down the kitchen safely at the end of each day.

  • Communication: Promote open communication within the team. Communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Thinking Style: Analyze information to solve problems. Organize tasks efficiently. Use data to inform decisions. Anticipate issues and troubleshoot.
  • Working with Others: Support team members and collaborate effectively. Engage with external partners as needed.

Other Skills and Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience in care home and catering environments.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
  • Diploma or NVQ Level 2 in Catering/Food Service or equivalent.
  • Experience supervising a team.

Salary: £24,238.50 (fixed)
