Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver holistic care to residents, including personal care, mobility assistance, medication support, infection control, dementia and end-of-life care, and managing equipment and supplies.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, wellbeing coordinators, and therapy teams to promote meaningful activities.
  • Build relationships with residents and stakeholders, including key workers.
  • Assist with nutrition, serving drinks, and supporting eating and drinking.
  • Maintain accurate records related to care and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, and supervision sessions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Communication Skills: Ability to write notes and messages; strong numeracy, literacy, and verbal skills. Effective communication with individuals with diverse communication needs. Encourage, influence, and follow instructions accurately.
  • Thinking Style: Analyze and evaluate information. Adapt approach based on situation. Pre-empt issues and troubleshoot. Refer decisions to line managers when appropriate. Suggest improvements to enhance team efficiency.
  • Well-being and Values: Respect cultural and individual differences. Show interest, care, and create positive impressions. Coordinate with residents and families to meet individual needs. Respond promptly to health or well-being issues. Maintain a safe environment and report hazards. Uphold the Trust’s values and behaviors.

Qualifications and Additional Skills:

  • Level 2 in Care or equivalent; Level 3 for senior roles.
  • Effective personal care skills with dignity.
  • GCSEs in maths and English or equivalent.
  • Proficient in IT, Word, and Email.
  • Understanding of older adults’ needs and dementia.
  • Experience in care settings, knowledge of first aid, manual handling, and hygiene practices.
  • Familiarity with CQC standards and the Mental Capacity Act; training provided.

Salary: £12.43 per hour plus applicable enhancements.

Hours: Full-time and part-time roles, including alternate weekends.
