To provide a food and drink (including Barista) service in a welcoming, clean environment for our residents/customers in our village cafe. Key Outcomes/Results:
Responsibilities
- Creates a welcoming environment for residents and customers in our village restaurants with a focus on customer service and providing a wide variety of food and drinks. Builds a rapport with residents.
- Provides a café/barista service in the village restaurants.
- Supports team members by assisting in the preparation of food and beverages.
- Serves customers using the EPOS.
- Responsible for day‑to‑day cleanliness, hygiene and washing up after a food service.
- Safely closes down the kitchen at the end of the day in line with protocols in preparation for the next day. Removes waste.
- Being in one of our catering teams means you\’ll be providing hot, healthy and satisfying food not only for residents, but also for visitors and your fellow colleagues.
- Within the catering team there are a range of roles, including head chefs, sous chefs, commis chefs, catering assistants and hospitality support workers.
Essential
- Knowledge and experience of good food hygiene practices
- Knowledge of health and safety principles
- Good standard of general education
Desirable
- Barista trained
- Food hygiene qualification level 2
- Diploma (or NVQ) level 1 Catering/Food Service or equivalent
- Experience working in a busy café/restaurant environment
- Experience of working with older people
- Experience using an EPOS
