Job Description

To care for and nurture children aged 5–13, ensuring their emotional and physical well‑being.

Plan, prepare and deliver fun, purposeful and age‑appropriate activities.

Engage children in play and structured activities that promote creativity, independence and social development.

Encourage positive behaviour

Observe and record any notable behaviour, concerns or achievements, sharing information with the Wraparound Care Manager.

Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in line with the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Prepare and serve basic food for tea, following food hygiene and allergen‑awareness procedures.

Follow all dietary requirements and individual health plans.

Log incidents, accidents and concerns in line with the school’s Health and Safety policy.

Ensure resources, equipment and play areas are cleaned, maintained and stored appropriately.

Desired Criteria

GCSE Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (or equivalent).

Level 1 Safeguarding Training (school can facilitate).

First Aid / Paediatric First Aid Certificate (school can facilitate).

Food Hygiene Level 1 (school can facilitate).

Experience working in a school

Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE).


Essential Criteria

Eligible to work in the UK.

Enhanced DBS disclosure (or registration with the Update Service).

Experience working with children.

Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and professional boundaries with children.

Ability to instil confidence in parents regarding the care of their children.
