Do you enjoy meeting new people or would like to gain catering experience? We are looking for volunteers to help run the popular and friendly café at our Whitestone based shop. We’re also keen to hear from Barista trained individuals to keep up with demand for our hot drinks, or if you would like to learn a new skill we can offer training.

What we’re looking for:

  • Willing, friendly and able to work as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willing to be flexible and take on different tasks as and when needed

What you’ll be doing:

  • As part of our café team you will help to ensure that visitors have an enjoyable and safe visit.
  • You will be serving customers hot and cold drinks and food, clearing tables, talking to customers about our food and drink options, maintaining cleanliness standards and health and safety codes of practice.
  • You will be helping visitors find seating and answering questions.

Café team volunteers volunteer on a rota to cover the needs of the site, this could be from a few hours a week. As part of your role you will learn new skills and gain experience working in the hospitality industry, including great transferable skills, such as customer service, diplomacy, people engagement, following health and safety protocols. The money raised through our retail and catering contributes to the essential care we offer to the local community.
