Role Purpose

St Michael’s Hospice has been providing the highest quality care, free of charge, to the local community for over 40 years. Are you looking for a supportive role that makes a real difference to our Herefordshire community and would support the care of our Day Services patients at the Hospice. You will be providing an administration support service, to the Day Services Department as one of our regular Volunteer Administration Support workers on a regular day Monday to Friday’s weekly. Ideally your availability to volunteer regularly for St Michael’s would be on Wednesdays, but if your available time is another day in the week, we would still be pleased to talk to you.

What we’re looking for

This role involves answering the telephone and taking messages from patients, opening security doors for patients and their carer attending activity sessions or appointments at the Hospice. Using our electronic patient management system to record patient attendances to Day Services activities or appointments that morning. Experience of using a computer or willing to learn basic computer skills would be beneficial. As well as joining an enthusiastic, friendly and committed team, our location is hard to beat – nestled in the stunning Herefordshire countryside, in a state-of-the-art facility with free on-site parking, discounted delicious meals, snacks and drinks. About You.

  • Previous administration experience.
  • Availability on week days between 9am-12pm, ideally Wednesdays however if you are available another day then let us know!
  • You have a pleasant and patient attitude towards hospice patients and carers.
