Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate safe, effective nursing care on the inpatient unit.

  • Champion best practice in complex and specialist palliative care.
  • Work with patients and families to develop individualised care plans.
  • Provide expert symptom management and sensitive end-of-life care.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Be a role model for compassionate, person-centred care.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
  • Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, ideally in palliative, oncology, or acute care.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating care in a ward or complex community setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, confident approach to emotionally sensitive situations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
