Join St. Michael’s Fellowship at a pivotal moment of change. St. Michael’s Fellowship has been supporting families facing adversity for over 120 years and we're evolving. We are reshaping our residential and outreach services into a fully integrated family assessment and support pathway, designed to provide high-quality, relationship-based work with families while delivering robust, evidence-informed assessments for courts and local authorities.

Our residential parenting assessments remain at the heart of what we do, but we are strengthening how we work:

  • clearer professional roles
  • stronger practice frameworks
  • greater continuity for families
  • a renewed focus on quality, reflection and impact

We are building a service that is:

  • relational and trauma-informed
  • analytically rigorous
  • confident in its professional voice

This is an opportunity to be part of something purposeful, helping shape a service that makes a real difference in the lives of children and families.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Social Worker (preferred) OR significant experience in residential childcare leadership
  • Experience managing residential or regulated services
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience of leading teams and managing performance
  • Ability to oversee quality and service delivery

Lead with clarity. Hold quality. Shape the service.

We are looking for a Registered Manager to provide strategic leadership and regulatory oversight of our Residential Family Assessment Centre. This is not a traditional “hands‑on shift management” role. Instead, you will:

  • hold overall responsibility for safeguarding, quality and compliance
  • lead the service through Ofsted inspection and external scrutiny
  • ensure assessments are robust, credible and child-focused
  • provide leadership across a newly defined professional structure

You will work alongside a strong practice spine including:

  • Assessing Social Workers (assessment lead)
  • Practice Leads (day-to-day operations)
  • Consultant Practitioner (practice quality)

This is a role for someone who:

  • understands how to hold a system, not just manage a team
  • can maintain oversight without losing grip on quality
  • is confident in professional judgement and accountability

We’re looking for:

  • strong knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks
  • experience leading regulated services
  • the ability to drive quality and performance
  • calm, confident leadership

Salary: £53,000-£55,000

Closing Date: 20th May

First stage interview: W/C 25th May
