St Michael’s is a highly inclusive Church of England primary school with a SEND Unit for pupils with SEMH needs. At St Michael’s we value everyone as a child of God and we rejoice in our diversity. This post is 32.5 hours per week, fixed term for 1 year in the first instance.
Responsibilities- Providing individual support to a pupil/pupils with additional needs.
- Supporting the pupil to engage with learning activities and follow classroom routines.
- Implementing strategies from individual support or education plans.
- Encouraging the pupil’s social, emotional and communication development.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, wider staff and parents where appropriate.
- Have experience supporting children with additional needs (desirable).
- Be patient, empathetic and flexible.
- Have good communication and teamwork skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
