Contract Term: Permanent

Hours: 29.15 hours per week (Monday to Friday 8.40am – 3.15pm)

Salary: STC Grade 2 – NJC Points 4‑7. Starting Salary £17,708 (£26,016 FTE)

Term Time only – 39 weeks per annum

We are looking for a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our collaborative academy, which is dedicated to developing a great team centred around respect. The role will give the candidate an opportunity to experience all aspects of school life, working with children in class, and outside in formal lessons and in more informal scenarios.

St Michael’s CofE Primary Academy is a larger than average primary school, located in Heavitree, Exeter and has been part of the local community for over 140 years. It is oversubscribed and currently full with 420 pupils. The school is inclusive and welcomes children with a range of needs and from a variety of backgrounds, creating an active learning environment that caters to diverse cohorts while ensuring high standards. There is a strong team culture with staff working closely together for the benefit of all the children.

Through established and embedded values, students are not only excellent learners, they are also first‑class citizens, helping to make the world a better place for all. St Michael’s is part of St Christopher’s Trust, which comprises 21 schools.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a calm and patient demeanour, who is committed to helping young people achieve their full potential. You will have had previous experience working with children in a similar setting and will be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike.
