Supervise customers in and around the swimming pool.
Job Tasks/Duties:
- Supervises swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensures that policies, guidelines and safety procedures are followed.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury, rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Monitors pool activities at all times and warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Monitors the usage of the pool and ensures it remains within the maximum bathing loads.
- Checks first aid supplies and reports needed items.
- Works with the Swimming Coordinator when required.
- Supervises and assists in cleaning the pool and related facilities and equipment.
- Informs the Health & Fitness Manager of any health and safety concerns raised by customers concerning the pool area.
- Maintains amenities in and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.
- Ensures locker doors are kept closed and removes any left property at the end of day.
- Enforces the use of all pool safety equipment.
- Ensures all swimming aids and pool toys are returned to the lifeguard locker after use.
- Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Health & Fitness Manager.
- Ensures a high degree of personal presentation and hygiene in line with the company’s dress and appearance policy.
- Acts as a positive ambassador for the Company’s values at all times.
Education and/or Experience:
High school graduate.
Licenses and Special Requirements:
CPR, First Aid, or AED certified. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) certified.
