Job Purpose: This job holder will inspire and support clients to achieve their fitness goals and ensure all participants’ individual needs and abilities are met including classes, programs, fitness regimes, inductions and promote overall health and wellbeing. Individual needs to be self-motivated, friendly, and approachable with a good understanding of legislation guidelines within the fitness and wellbeing industry.
Key Areas of Activity:
- Planning and conducting fun, safe and effective fitness classes and workouts
- Explaining exercises and demonstrating how to perform them correctly
- Designing exercise routines and workouts to suit all ages, abilities and needs
- Designing training and workout plans for clients/gym users
- Motivating clients to improve their performance and continue with their training programs
- Checking to ensure that exercises and equipment are performed/used safely
- Ensuring all fitness equipment is in perfect working order
- Ensuring that the gym is clean and tidy
- Execute additional ad-hoc tasks to meet the business objectives of the department as directed by the Health Club Manager and Fitness Supervisor
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- A good understanding and working knowledge of health, fitness, exercise prescription and programming
- Experienced at working within a fitness setting and delivering varied sessions and programmes to a wide demographic of people
- Competent working with Excel and Word for programme and session design
Key Personal Attributes & Behaviours:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with both colleagues and clients
- Ability to work independently, organised and have good time management and administrative skills
- Work and contribute as part of a busy team
- Flexible working attitude

Qualifications:
- Level 2 Fitness Instructor
- Level 3 Personal Trainer
- First aid at work (desirable)
