Bristol Law School UWE has been a leading provider of legal education for over 40 years. We are currently recruiting 1 Senior Lecturer for our growing Bar Training Course (BTC) in our suite of Professional Law programmes. Working with an experienced team of Professional Law colleagues, the successful applicant will teach, assess and support students on the Bar Training Course.
We are seeking applicants with current or previous practice experience as a barrister in areas of Civil Law related subjects to teach on the following modules: Civil Litigation, Civil Advocacy, Opinion Writing, Legal Research and Drafting. Experience of teaching in a HE setting is desirable, but not essential. It is expected the successful applicant will also undertake module leadership role on the BTC and supervise dissertations/projects on the Professional Law programmes. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Head of School, Directors, Associate Directors and Programme Leaders to continue the development of the Schools learning and teaching initiatives and ensure the innovative nature of the curriculum.

This role is a permanent appointment as a Senior Lecturer and the candidate must have current or previous experience of practice as a barrister in the Civil Law related subject areas covered on the BTC. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to communicate complex information effectively. A commitment to a student-centred approach and maintaining high ethical standards is crucial. In addition, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and manage demanding situations is important.

This is a permanent post and is full time working on a 1.0 FTE contract. This post is available on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
