Main duties of the job
As a Registered General Nurse at St Matthews Unit, youll be at the heart of delivering high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs. Your main duties will include leading the delivery of personalised nursing care, supporting therapeutic and recovery-focused activities, and ensuring safe medication administration. Youll work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and review care, while promoting dignity, respect, and independence for every resident.

About The Service:
Located in the vibrant heart of Northampton, St Matthews Unit is a purpose-built residential nursing home offering 52 specialist care beds. We provide high-quality nursing care and long-term rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs, including dementia, organic disorders, and high-dependency conditions.
Our service supports a wide range of care pathways, including:
- Hospital step-down placements
- High-functioning recovery programmes
- Individuals with mild to moderate learning disabilities (LD)
- Clients with organic mental health disorders and complex nursing needs
- A dedicated female-only section for those who prefer non-mixed accommodation
Key Responsibilities Of The Role:

- Managing aspects of medication management in line with the Trust and NMC guidelines
