We are seeking a dynamic Admissions and Assessment Officer to play a central role in the operational delivery of assessments (specifically Objective Structured Clinical Examinations - OSCEs) and admissions (specifically Multiple Mini Interviews - MMIs) of applicants/students at St Mary’s University School of Medicine (SoM). The post holder will provide coordination, quality assurance and stakeholder support for OSCEs within the MBBS programme and MMIs within the admissions process, working flexibly across cycles to meet business need. The scope and range of activities supported by this role is subject to change as the School of Medicine grows and develops.
Main duties of the role will include:
- Assessment
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of OSCEs across the MBBS programme.
- Work with academic leads to ensure OSCE materials and processes align with curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Recruit and onboard OSCE examiners, including clinicians and external assessors, and simulated patients.
- Admissions
- Recruit clinicians, professional services staff, medical students and external assessors to support MMI delivery.
- Manage MMI assessor training and payments.
- Manage the MMI platform and update with MMI stations, rubrics and recordings.
- Manage marking and moderation processes.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Knowledge of assessment and admission processes within UK higher education
- Understanding of performance-based assessment methods (OSCEs, MMIs, structured interviews)
- Experience of recruiting, onboarding and supporting assessors, examiners or external contributors
- Experience of coordinating high-stakes operational activity with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent IT skills with experience of using a range of software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload, stay calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
