St Mary’s University is seeking a self-motivated, positive and diligent individual who possesses outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, to join our Research and Knowledge Exchange Services Team. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and flexible, with a support service mindset, and have the ability to work independently towards team and external deadlines.

Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering the day-to-day management and administration of funding contracts (e.g. budget monitoring, reporting etc.), pre-award support (e.g. locating funding sources, developing costings for bids etc.), management of committee meetings and other finance processing, such as tracking internal QR spending. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with academics across the university in order to facilitate the work done by the Research and Knowledge Exchange Services Team, understand the university’s research profile, and identify opportunities for knowledge exchange.

The key to the success of this role will be a combination of delivering the best possible support in a timely manner, with the ability to work flexibly, and the ability to develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver day-to-day management and administration of funding contracts (e.g. budget monitoring, reporting).
  • Provide pre-award support (e.g. locating funding sources, developing costings for bids).
  • Manage committee meetings and other finance processing, including tracking internal QR spending.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with academics to facilitate the work of the Research and Knowledge Exchange Services Team.
  • Support the university in understanding its research profile and identifying knowledge exchange opportunities.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality support and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Self-motivated, positive, and diligent with outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication.
  • Ability to work independently and meet team and external deadlines.
  • Experience with funding contracts, budget monitoring, reporting, and related finance processing (e.g. QR spending) is desirable.
