Summer Camp Activity Leader

Location: St Mary's University Campus

Salary: £747.96 per week (Non-residential); £670.26 per week (Residential)

Basis: Full time/ Fixed Term

Dates: 1st July – 29th July or 1st July – 12th August

Weekly Hours: The postholders will be required to work 48 hours per week, on a rotated shift basis. Details of shifts will be provided when you arrive at the camp but will be subject to change based on operational need.

Package: Accrued holiday allowance will be paid at the end of the engagement at the rate of 12.08% of salary.

Job Description: Camp St Mary’s London is an ambitious new venture at St Mary’s University hosting an English-language summer camp for approximately 350 international students per week in July and 125 in August. We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive residential or non-residential Activity Leaders to bring our social and cultural programme to life.

Your primary responsibility will be the seamless organisation and delivery of a varied activity programme that includes on site sporting and non-sporting activities as well as regular excursions. You will play a key role in the student journey from the moment they land and will be responsible for carrying out airport arrival transfers, welcoming students to the UK, and ensuring their first experience with Camp St Mary’s is professional and friendly.

For those in residential positions, this includes some curfew duties and night-time supervision, which may involve late-night work to ensure the security and well-being of all participants. You will have a positive, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for working with juniors. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team under pressure and possess the excellent communication skills required to lead large groups of students.
