We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Head of Mathematics to lead our successful and innovative Mathematics Department from September 2026. The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner, able to teach Key Stages 3-5. The ability to teach Further Mathematics is desirable, with a clear commitment to do so essential. Experience supporting students with university applications and confidence delivering PHSEE are advantageous. Mathematics is a large, high-performing department of seven staff, with strong outcomes at GCSE and A Level. In 2025, 50% of A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics students achieved A-A, and nearly half of GCSE students achieved Grade 7 or above. Many students progress to Mathematics or related degrees.
Students follow the Edexcel specifications at GCSE and A Level, with extensive enrichment opportunities including OCR Additional Mathematics, UKMT Challenges, and preparation for STEP, MAT and TMUA. The department is committed to engaging, rigorous teaching that supports and stretches all learners.
