We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and detail-driven Examinations Officer to oversee the efficient administration of all internal and external examinations at our school. This is a key role within a small, supportive team, offering autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the student experience. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils, staff, invigilators, awarding bodies, and senior leaders to ensure that every aspect of the examination process runs seamlessly and in full compliance with national regulations.

As Examinations Officer, you will:

  • Lead the operational management of all school examinations, ensuring the smooth running of internal and public exams.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all matters relating to the administration of awarding body examinations and assessments.
  • Line manage and oversee the appointment, training, and performance of the Exam Invigilator team.
  • Plan and publish exam schedules, organise exam rooms, and ensure appropriate staffing.
  • Work closely with colleagues and systems professionals to manage exam data and resolve exam-related queries.
  • Ensure full compliance with JCQ regulations and all awarding body requirements, maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.
  • Maintain robust systems and procedures to ensure all key deadlines and processes are fully met.
  • Proactively support the Head of Centre in preventing and addressing any instances of malpractice or maladministration.

Hours: 4 days per week during Autumn & Spring Terms; 5 days per week in Summer Term, plus an additional 5 weeks during school holidays.

Reports to: Deputy Head (Data and Operations) or other nominated person.
