St Mary’s Catholic High School is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic part‑time Art Technician to support the Art Department. The role will prepare materials, maintain a safe learning environment and support practical art & photography lessons.
Salary: Grade 5, £14,008 – £15,427 per annum (£13.90 – £15.31 per hour). 22 hours per week, term time plus 2 weeks working 40 weeks per year. Required for September 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials and equipment for art and photography lessons.
- Maintain a safe and creative learning environment.
- Assist teaching staff with demonstrations during practical lessons.
- Take daily responsibility for preparation, maintenance and organisation of equipment.
- Carry out tasks in line with appropriate health & safety requirements.
- Support delivery of practical classroom activities across the age and ability range.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Practical skills and interest/background in art, design or creative subjects.
- Experience working within an educational setting, supporting young people, is advantageous but not essential.
- Hold appropriate qualifications relevant to the job role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible, with the capacity to adapt to changing demands and priorities.
Working Pattern & Flexibility: Permanent post, 22 hours per week. Applicants are encouraged to indicate a preferred working pattern; flexibility may be possible.
