Job Summary
Furniture Warehouse Manager, 32 hours (Job Share) over the equivalent of 4 days, some ½ day Saturday work required on a rota basis. £16.41 per hour. Location: Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.
Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day operations of the warehouse, including handling and moving furniture, books, Bric a Brac and other donated items.
- Prioritise tasks and think on your feet in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work collaboratively with staff, drivers, volunteers and members of the public.
- Represent the charity, upholding Hospice values of caring, aspiration, professionalism and sustainability.
- Implement and support entrepreneurial ideas to maximise income from donated items.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, “glass half full” attitude.
- Ability to multitask mentally and physically, and pay attention to details.
- Organised and practical, with the capacity to juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Local knowledge of Barrow area is desirable; job‑specific relevant knowledge is a plus.
