The Pro:Direct Football Academy is the official football education and training academy of Pro:Direct Soccer, the world's largest online football retailer. Operating as the largest independent football academy in the UK with 24 centres nationwide, we bridge the gap between elite sports training and formal education for student-athletes aged 16-19. Launched in September 2025 as the exclusive provider for the Yorkshire region, Pro:Direct Hull is based at St Mary’s College Sixth Form (SM6)—a World Class School beyond an Ofsted "Outstanding" rating with an exceptionally diverse community representing nearly 60 nationalities. Following a highly successful inaugural year—winning the AOC Colleges League and sending 6 male and female players to represent the national PD11 squads, we are expanding our capacity and looking for experienced, highly motivated, and qualified coaches to join our growing team.
The Programme at a Glance
- Dual Pathway: Full-time education (A-Levels, BTECs, or NCFE Level 3 Sports Diplomas) paired with elite football development.
- Pro-Level Environment: High-quality 4G pitch access, strength & conditioning, nutritional guidance, and VEO match analysis.
- Competitive Fixtures: Weekly matches in the AOC Colleges Leagues and ESFA Cup competitions.
- The "PD11": Elite showcase opportunities against professional global academies and scouts.
- Brand & Perks: Nike kit and opportunities to attend Pro:Direct Soccer media events and launches.
Working Hours & Schedule (Term Time Only)
- Training Sessions: Monday, Tuesday & Friday. On-site set-up from 8:30 AM; session runs 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; equipment pack-away until 10:15 AM (1 hour 45 minutes per training day).
- Match Days: Wednesdays. Typically 4 to 6 hours per fixture (depending on home vs. away travel). Games are regular throughout term time, though not every single week. Occasional Saturday morning may be required throughout the academic year to support with recruitment events. Approximately 3 throughout the academic year. Dates TBA.
- Flexibility: Occasional fixtures may be scheduled outside standard hours; candidate flexibility to work additional days or evenings when required is desirable.
The Role
We are seeking dedicated coaches to lead and support training delivery and matchday management for our male and female squads.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver innovative, organized, and engaging coaching sessions.
- Support player pathways and squad development for competitive league and cup fixtures.
- Impart technical and tactical insights to elevate player understanding of the game.
- Maintain a supportive environment that aligns with our players' dual-status as full-time student-athletes.
What we are looking for:
- Qualifications: FA / UEFA coaching licenses - UEFA C licence or above desirable.
- Experience: Essential experience coaching youth players aged 16-19; experience working within an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Mindset: Passionate about holistic player development, highly organized, and an excellent communicator.
- Understanding: A strong commitment to supporting players' academic performance and personal wellbeing alongside their athletic growth.
- Availability: Able to commit to the morning training schedule and Wednesday matchdays, with flexibility for external fixture changes.
