St Mary’s Catholic School, Bishop’s Stortford is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our Science Team in our Outstanding secondary school. We seek applications from those of the Catholic faith, all faiths, and of no faith, who are supportive of our Christian values and ethos.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10.00 - 3.30 daily, term time only (less 30 minutes unpaid lunch daily). Occasional additional hours may be requested to assist with open evenings etc.

Salary: H3 5-6 (Fringe) £25,583- £25,989 + £729 FTE, £14,878 - £15,107 actual pro-rata (25 hours per week) paid over 12 months.

As a Science Technician, you will join a dedicated team of science technicians and teachers and play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth and effective running of the Science Department. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and maintaining equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons;
  • Supporting health and safety procedures;
  • Maintaining laboratories;
  • Ensuring students have access to resources required to excel.
