St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Barnard Castle are looking to appoint a reliable and motivated Cleaner in Charge / Caretaker to join our friendly school community. This is an important, hands-on role where you’ll take pride in making our school a clean, safe and welcoming environment for children, staff and visitors every day. If you take pride in your work, like to keep things organised, pay attention to details and take satisfaction in seeing a job well done, this could be the perfect role for you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out daily cleaning tasks across the school
  • Ensuring all areas are clean, hygienic and well-presented
  • Taking responsibility for site security, including opening and locking up
  • Supporting event set-ups and deliveries
  • Helping to maintain high health and safety standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Someone dependable, hardworking and able to use their own initiative
  • A person who takes real pride in cleanliness and presentation
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently
  • A flexible, proactive approach to day-to-day tasks
