Salary Grade: Band D, scale point 6-7 £23,893–£24,294 FTE (£20,360–£20,684 actual)

Contract: 1 year fixed‑term, 32.5 hours a week, 39 weeks a year (term‑time plus INSET days). Start Date: 1 September 2026. Closing Date: 15 May 2026 at 12:00pm.

Your role will be to support students across the school by developing an understanding of the student's specific needs and helping them learn as effectively as possible, while ensuring their safety and well‑being.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote students' development in a safe, secure, challenging environment.
  • Develop an understanding of the student's specific needs to help them learn effectively.
  • Encourage inclusion within the classroom.
  • Display students' work to reflect their achievement.
  • Facilitate small‑group interventions as directed by the SENDCO (homework club, social skills, etc.).
  • Meet the physical/medical needs of the student according to an individual care plan, encouraging independence wherever possible.
  • Medical needs include the administration of medicines by mouth or other medical procedures provided appropriate training has been given by an appropriate person.
  • Encourage good personal hygiene and assist with necessary self‑help skills (feeding, toileting, dressing, etc.).
