What You’ll Be Doing

  • As our Registered Nurse, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:
  • Responsible to the person in charge for high standards of care to the residents in his/her care in accordance with the care plan and by appropriate hand over to ensure all needs are continuously met.
  • To help ensure all junior care and ancillary staff contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the Home and the creation of a homely atmosphere.
  • Report any ill health amongst clients and make requests for GP/Professional visits where necessary.
  • Ensure that Clients Care Plans are completed and maintained in conjunction with Clients, Relatives and other Health Care Professionals, and in accordance with NMC guidelines and Company policy.
  • Assess all aspects of Clients care needs and provide health supervision and direct Nursing Care.
  • Assess social and health care needs of new Clients and maintain on‑going assessment and review of other clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure that each Client within the Care Home has an individualised Care Plan. Client Care Plans to be reviewed on a bi‑annual basis or more frequently as and when required, in accordance with NMC guidelines and Company policy.
  • Carry out regular checks on Clients at intervals determined by the Home Manager. Ensure a clear and concise handover report is given to all relevant Staff Members at the end of each shift.
  • Undertake tasks including distribution of prescribed medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding and appropriate intervention in the management of chronic medical conditions and document the same in accordance with the Company’s procedure and NMC guidelines.
  • Liaise with health and social care professionals involved in the well being of individual residents to maintain an holistic approach to their care.
  • Practice maximum integrity in all dealings with Clients personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship exists with Clients.
  • Acts at all times within NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain a current NMC registration.
  • Be able to meet the criteria for Revalidation, maintaining a professional profile in accordance with NMC guidelines.
