What You’ll Be Doing

As our Team Leader, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of residents by:

• Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting residents, when required, with all aspects of daily living.
• Supporting training and supervision of junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work in the home, under the supervision of senior staff members.
• Assisting residents in all aspects of their care needs (e.g. physical, emotional and spiritual). Providing supervision and attention when needed, ensuring residents retain their comfort and dignity.
• Paying particular attention to assisting residents who have limited mobility, or physical / learning difficulties, making the best use of aids provided.
• Closely monitoring residents who may be confused and/or who have behavioural problems.
• Assisting in the promotion of continence.
• Assisting in the delivery of care for residents who are dying or who have a progressive illness. Assisting with last offices.
• Completing, observing & reviewing care planning needs for residents, and completing written daily records as instructed and in line with the Company’s policies and procedures.
• Assisting in framework of social activities by interacting with residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the home.
• Answering nurse call system, giving assistance as required. Answering the door and telephone appropriately, responding accordingly, and passing on messages promptly.
• Reporting on well-being of residents and liaising with GPs and support managers etc.

• Able to work flexibly across some evenings and weekends
• Previous experience in a similar role
• NVQ level 3 (or willing to work towards this)
