Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (38.5 hours per week, includes occasional evenings and weekends)

About the role: Support the care home by maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the premises and ensuring efficient laundering of clothes, linens, and other washable items. The role contributes to a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, sort, wash, fold, iron, and store laundry items such as clothing, bed linen, and towels.
  • Operate washing machines, dryers, and ironing/pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Label or identify personal laundry when required.
  • Ensure infection control procedures are followed.
  • Report any faulty equipment or maintenance issues.
  • Clean designated areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and kitchens.
  • Vacuum, dust, mop, disinfect surfaces, and remove rubbish as needed.
  • Refill supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and procedures in accordance with hygiene and safety standards.
  • Notify the supervisor of any hazards or repairs needed in the premises.
