St Mary’s is seeking an experienced and dynamic Regional Manager – Nurse Qualified to oversee a portfolio of Residential and/or Nursing services across East Yorkshire and surrounding regions. This senior leadership role is ideal for a clinically trained professional with a nursing qualification who is commercially aware, quality-driven, and passionate about delivering outstanding care while ensuring operational and financial excellence. Experience in commissioning services is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory & Quality Leadership
- Ensure full compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements and other regulatory bodies
- Lead action plans following inspections to improve outcomes
- Maintain robust governance and prevent breaches of the Health and Social Care Act
- Oversee quality monitoring schemes and regulatory reporting
- Investigate complaints and liaise with registration authorities where required
- Operational & Performance Management
- Direct line management of Home Managers, including monthly supervisions, audits, and development support
- Review staffing levels to ensure safe and effective care delivery
- Monitor policy implementation and record keeping
- Attend local authority, safeguarding, and regional meetings as required
- Provide on-call/weekend support on a rotational basis
- Financial, Commercial & Commissioning Accountability
- Drive and maintain high occupancy levels
- Ensure financial efficiency across allocated services
- Manage budgets and KPIs to deliver strong financial performance
- Support fee negotiations with purchasing authorities and families
- Contribute to commissioning discussions and service planning where required
- People & Culture
- Ensure effective recruitment and retention
- Promote strong communication across teams
- Foster a caring, professional environment meeting residents’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs
Minimum Requirements
- Registered Nursing Qualification (RN, RNLD, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience managing 4+ Residential and/or Nursing services as a Regional Manager
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, adult social care legislation, and commissioning processes
- Demonstrable experience in financial and budget management
- Proven leadership and people management capability
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently
