What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensure the highest possible levels of care by supporting/assisting Residents with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, and other daily living activities.
- Assist Residents in all aspects of their care needs (physical, emotional and spiritual).
- Provide attention when needed while maintaining comfort and dignity.
- Support Residents with limited mobility or physical/learning difficulties, using aids provided.
- Closely monitor Residents who may be confused or have behavioural challenges.
- Assist in promoting continence.
- Assist in the delivery of care for Residents who are dying or have a progressive illness; assist with last offices as required.
- Observe care planning needs and complete written daily records in line with Company policies and procedures.
- Support social activities by engaging Residents and helping them continue hobbies and activities in the Home.
- Answer Nurse call system and provide assistance; answer the door and telephone as needed, passing on messages promptly.
- Report on Residents’ well-being under supervision of senior Care Staff.
- Carry out regular checks on Residents at intervals determined by senior staff.
- Make Visitors feel welcome and provide refreshments/assistance as required.
- Make and change beds; keep rooms clean and tidy; manage waste in line with the Home’s policy; ensure resources are used appropriately.
- Clean and maintain equipment used by Residents/Relatives (e.g., wheelchairs, hearing aids, spectacles); ensure the Home remains clean and tidy.
- Record participation and feedback to ensure meaningful engagement.
