Overview
We are advertising for a part time (0.60 to 0.80 FTE) permanent PE teacher, and the post is available from 1 September 2026.
We are a successful, heavily oversubscribed 11‑18 co‑educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1,750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate.
Responsibilities
- Teach core Physical Education for KS3 and KS4, meeting the national curriculum.
- Where appropriate, teach GCSE and A Level PE courses.
- Maintain high standards and provide high‑quality instruction across a full range of physical activities.
- Promote lifelong participation and a commitment to our distinctive school ethos.
- Contribute to the PE department’s continued improvement and support its active role in school life.
- Assist with, and contribute to, a thriving extra‑curricular programme and popular exam groups at KS4 and KS5.
Qualifications
- Strong ability to teach Core Physical Education (KS3 and KS4).
- Ability to teach GCSE and A Level PE is an advantage.
- Evidence of a commitment to a distinctive school ethos and high standards.
- Passion for sport and physical activity, and dedication to promoting lifelong participation.
- Experience or willingness to develop new skills in a school that has a compelling vision and deep commitment to exceptional teaching and learning.
