Are you a newly qualified HLTA looking to build your confidence with a gradual step into HLTA responsibilities?
We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our school. This role will primarily involve working as a General Teaching Assistant within one of our wonderful EYFS classes. You will also undertake Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) responsibilities, either within EYFS or Key Stage 1, to cover teachers’ planning time.
Key duties include:
- Supporting the teacher in delivering and preparing materials for engaging and inclusive lessons and activities.
- Helping to create a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Working under the guidance of the class teacher to support pupils in whole-class settings and in small groups.
- Providing targeted learning support to enable all pupils to fully engage in their learning and reach their potential.
- Planning and delivering learning activities that inspire and engage whole classes during teacher absence.
- Monitoring pupils’ progress and supporting the teacher in reporting on their achievements, development and outcomes.
- Providing timely and accurate feedback to the class teacher on pupils’ progress during learning activities.
You will have:
- Relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant status or Qualified Teacher Status is essential to undertake the HLTA duties (or a willingness to undertake the training in order to complete these duties).
- An awareness of child/young person’s development and learning.
- An understanding that children/young people have differing needs.
- Experience appropriate to working with children in a learning environment.
