St Martins Care are recruiting for a Senior Care Assistant to work at their busy Residential Care Home. We know you will be an experienced care professional with an understanding of medication management and CQC compliance but we are interested in who you are as a person. Location: Washington Manor Care Home, Hollin Hill Road, Concord. The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
Role-Specific Duties:- Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
- To supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
- Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
- Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
- Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
- Maintain and develop relationships with residents' loved ones.
- Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Act as a role model for others and an ambassador for the service.
- Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.
- Have knowledge of, and work within, the Fundamental Standards.
- Understand the regulatory framework governing the service, including CQC requirements.
- Commit to achieving relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
- Attend statutory and other training as directed by management.
- Follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
- Embrace learning opportunities.
- Vocational qualification level 3 Health and Social Care.
- Level 3 Medication.
- Good English (written and verbal).
- Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.
- Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
- Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
- Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, this may include bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.
- Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks, including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom.
- Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.
- Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
