We are recruiting for a Support Worker to support a busy care home with flexible hours, alternate weekends’, and an opportunity to make a real difference.

Location: The service’s premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.

Role-specific Duties

Ensure that residents are at the heart of care delivery, respecting their wishes and preferences to enhance their wellbeing.

Contribute to the efficient running of the service.

Support residents to maintain relationships and connections with their local community.

Follow care plans and other supporting information regarding residents.

Inform the Team Leader of any changes in a residents needs.

Promote and safeguard the welfare of those being supported.

Working with Others

Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.

Maintain and develop relationships with residents loved ones.

Leading by Example

Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Act as a role model for others and an ambassador for the service.

Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.

Personal and Professional Development

Have knowledge of, and work within, the Fundamental Standards.

Qualifications

Good English (written and verbal).

Skills

Proficient written skills to maintain care plans and care records in line with service policy.

Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.

Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.

Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan, this may include bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and using the bathroom.
