Location: Guisborough Manor Care Home, Woodhouse Triangle, Middlesbrough Road. The service premises; may be required to work at other locations later.

Job Overview

The role is Senior Care Assistant at a busy Residential Care Home. Experienced care professional, understanding of medication management and CQC compliance. Passion for providing high quality care for older people, team‑oriented, good communicator.

Role‑specific Duties

  • Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
  • Supervise staff and ensure all staff contribute to efficient running of the service.
  • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with residents' loved ones.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Vocational qualification level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • Level 3 Medication.
  • Good English (written and verbal).

Skills

  • Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.
  • Communication skills to build rapport with residents, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
  • Problem‑solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
  • Ability to assist residents with daily tasks, following their care plan (bathing, eating, dressing, grooming, and use of bathroom).
  • Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks.
  • Dispense medication following the service’s policies and procedures.

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
