St Martins Care are recruiting for a Registered Nurse to work at their busy Nursing and Residential Care Home. Location: The service premises, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.

Role-specific Duties:

  • Ensure residents are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing.
  • Provide nursing care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.
  • Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
  • Work within the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.

Working with Others:

  • Develop effective working relationships with colleagues within the service.
  • Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with residents' loved ones.

  • Be professional, polite, and reasonable at all times.

Personal and Professional Development:

  • Have knowledge of, and work within, the Fundamental Standards.
  • Be registered with the NMC and work within the Code of Conduct.
  • Comply with NMC requirements for revalidation every three years.
  • Understand the regulatory framework governing the service, including CQC requirements.
  • Commit to achieving relevant qualifications commensurate with the role.
  • Attend statutory and other training as directed by management.
  • Follow all policies and procedures relevant to the role.
  • Embrace learning opportunities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualifications: Registered Nurse Qualification.
  • Registered with relevant body, e.g. NMC.
  • Good English (written and verbal).

Skills:

  • Maintain care plans/care records in accordance with the service’s policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance.
  • Communication skills to build rapport with residents, communicate effectively with them, and inform colleagues, management, and professionals about their needs.
  • Problem-solving skills to adapt to and address situations quickly, develop solutions, and recognise/report situations requiring protection.
  • Ability to assist residents with daily tasks by following their care plan.
  • Supervise staff providing residents with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks.

Previous Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment.
