St Margaret’s School is seeking a part-time freelance graphic designer to join our Marketing team to help execute the visual identity of the School.
The role is a one-day-per-week freelance position, term time only, with the designer required to work on-site at the School on the designated day each week. This setup ensures close collaboration with the Marketing team, as well as key stakeholders across the School. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, self-motivated designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across both print and digital media. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently are essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and produce creative materials for both print and digital channels, including:
- Prospectuses, brochures, and event programmes
- Digital and social media assets
- Advertising and promotional materials
- Signage
- Internal communications and presentations
The successful candidate will have/be:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise effectively and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Excellent IT skills and willingness to explore and learn new platforms.
Key Qualities
- 3–5 years’ experience in a graphic design role, ideally within an in-house team or agency environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both print and digital design work.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop; After Effects or Premiere Pro desirable).
- A good understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Experience working within established brand guidelines, with the ability to evolve and refine them creatively.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Confident communicator who can take initiative and collaborate effectively.
