St Margaret’s Hospice Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Deputy Shop Manager to join our team in Ilminster. You will join us on a permanent basis and in return, you will receive a salary of £10,833.38 per annum. This is a 16‑hour per week, part‑time role, worked across two days. Flexibility is essential, as you will be expected to work additional hours from time to time to support shop cover, particularly during holidays, sickness, or busy periods.

Responsibilities
- Supervising, supporting, and motivating staff and volunteers on shift
- Delivering warm, friendly, and engaging customer service
- Assisting with the training, induction, and ongoing development of team members
- Creating eye‑catching merchandising and beautiful displays to bring the store to life
- Managing till and cash‑handling procedures
- Assisting with staff and volunteer rotas
- Sorting, lifting, and carrying donated goods
What you will be good at
- Experience in a supervisory role, ideally within the Retail industry
- Demonstrable excellent communication skills and the high standards of customer service
- An understanding and awareness of how to successfully motivate and engage a team, working collectively to provide outstanding customer service and driving sales within your own shop
This role is a physically demanding position within a busy retail environment which includes the lifting and carrying of donated goods.
