St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy is seeking an outstanding teacher of Music to support and further develop the department including Voicebox choir, jazz orchestra and Key Stage 3 and 4 ensembles. The role involves teaching music across Key Stages, contributing to the strategic development of the department, and representing the school as a lead in the Music Partnership network.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver music instruction to pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Lead the Voicebox choir, jazz orchestra and other ensembles
  • Participate in strategic planning and development of the department
  • Possibly offer Music at A Level (advantage but not essential)
  • For full-time positions: support teaching a second subject, ideally Religious Education or humanities

Qualifications

  • Teaching experience or ECT support available
  • Capability to offer Music at A Level is advantageous
  • Ability to teach a second subject for full-time roles
  • Adhering to safeguarding and welfare commitments; required to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service checks and an online/social media check in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023.
