The predicted salary is between 30000 - 38505 £ per year.
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate counsellor to join our Counselling & art therapy Service, providing specialist emotional and bereavement support to people affected by palliative and life-limiting illness.
Responsibilities
- Deliver counselling to patients, families, carers, children and young people, supporting them through anticipatory grief, loss and bereavement.
- Manage a varied clinical caseload and provide one‑to‑one and group interventions.
- Offer telephone and online counselling.
- Support and develop students and volunteers through mentoring and training.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the service and promote education and awareness by delivering sessions to colleagues, partners and community organisations.
Qualifications
- Qualified counsellor, registered with BACP, NCPS or an equivalent professional body.
- Experience in bereavement, palliative care or complex grief.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with people across the lifespan.
- Ability to manage a diverse and emotionally complex caseload with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Experience of supporting students or volunteers, facilitating group work, and contributing to service development is highly desirable.
- Experience with children and young people is desirable, with a strong interest and commitment to developing expertise in this area essential.
