We are looking to appoint a Consultant who will contribute to the development and implementation of our key objectives to deliver services that enable the best possible palliative care in Sheffield, promoting optimum patient and family care, ensuring efficient use of resources and promoting a culture that is progressive and inclusive.

This post replaces a retired colleague and has an anticipated start date of 1st July 2026. It is a developmental post and ideally suited to a newly accredited physician with evident potential and enthusiasm for personal development and clinical leadership. This post focuses on Hospice In-Patient clinical care and management; as well as undergraduate and post graduate medical education. It will also actively support opportunities for individuals with a developing interest in research and education.

With established skills in multidisciplinary team working, you will join the senior clinical team in our dynamic Hospice Service, contributing to the frontline duties of our St Luke’s consultants. These duties include serving as consultant of the day for Community and the In-Patient Centre on a rotational basis with colleagues, as well as acting as the designated responsible consultant for one or more areas of the clinical service as required. Opportunities for rotation through St Luke’s clinical services are available if desired.

You will be part of the Sheffield Specialist Palliative Medicine team, providing consultant-led on-call clinical cover, ensuring the highest possible standard of medical care. This role takes a holistic approach, addressing patients’ emotional, social and spiritual needs, while supporting and refining our case management and a collaborative, multi-professional approach across clinical settings in Sheffield.
