St. Luke’s C of E Primary School, Morley Street, Bury, BL9 9JQ is looking to appoint four permanent Level 3 Teaching Assistants to work with our team across school to deliver high-quality learning experiences for pupils, including those with SEND. The successful candidate will support individuals and small groups both in and outside the classroom, helping to implement tailored learning programmes and contribute to planning and resource preparation.

Positions

  • Position 1: Early Years Foundation Stage
  • Position 2: Key Stage One
  • Position 3: Key Stage Two
  • Position 4: SEND Intervention Provision

Responsibilities

The roles involve promoting an inclusive, positive learning environment, supporting pupils’ development, independence, and wellbeing, and assisting with personal care where required. You will monitor progress, provide feedback, and help maintain accurate pupil records. Working closely with teachers, you will support lesson delivery, behaviour management, and the use of effective teaching and assessment strategies, including early years frameworks (where applicable) and ICT. These are varied roles that may include supervising classes in the short-term absence of a teacher, supporting extracurricular activities, and contributing to the overall ethos and success of the school.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working in a primary school setting
  • Experience of working with small groups, 1-1 and whole classes, meeting their needs
  • Experience of liaising with class teachers and other agencies
  • Experience of administering interventions
  • A strong teamwork ethos that shows commitment and positivity to working in a challenging yet rewarding environment
  • A desire to be flexible and proactive
  • A real passion for children and supporting their learning
  • Either a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (NNEB), NVQ III in Early Years and Education, BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing) or an equivalent qualification.

For Position 4 - We are seeking to appoint a dedicated, resilient and compassionate person with an understanding of a range of additional needs, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and learning difficulties.
