At Kelwel Care, we pride ourselves on providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in our residential children's home. Our mission is to empower adolescents, helping them build resilience and achieve their full potential. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic youth residential support worker to join our team and play a pivotal role in enriching the lives of young people in our care.
Role Overview
As a youth residential support worker, you will work in a home for adolescents with emotional and behavioural disorders. Your role is primarily that of a care worker, and you will be part of a team that provides a safe and often life-changing experience for our residents, with ongoing support from the registered manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Build positive relationships with residents and act as a role model.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal preparation, education, and recreational activities.
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to address individual needs.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement personalized care plans.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Facilitate group activities and workshops to promote social and emotional development.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
- A proactive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with young people.
- A commitment to being a positive influence and role model.
- Valid UK driver's license and a clear Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one.
