Kelwel Care are offering an exciting opportunity to join our team in one of our residential children's homes based in Suffolk. Please note the shift pattern is 2 on 4 off.

Working as part of a professional team to promote and provide the highest standard of care for young people, your responsibilities will include:
- Communicating effectively with children and young people and understanding and empathising with their needs.
- Empowering young people to grow into confident and resourceful young adults who understand and take responsibility for their own behaviours.
- Communicating effectively with multi-agencies within the social care sector, ensuring the transparency of the company is delivered consistently throughout.
- Offering advice, guidance and signposting to other organisations they can access.
- Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.
- Knowledge of the main issues affecting young people today.
- Supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Helping promote a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.
- Providing practical and emotional support to young people.
- Demonstrating empathy, compassion, resilience and positive parenting skills even under challenging conditions.
- Working closely with young people, their families and professionals.
- Organising and facilitating social activities and health appointments.
- Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping etc.).
You must be organised, committed and passionate about the work you do. All applicants must have a valid full manual UK/EU driving licence and be over the age of 21 (in accordance with The Children's Homes England Regulations 2015). Experience of working or engaging with young people is essential.
