Salary: Grade 4 (£31,022 – £33,699 pro rata).
Hours/Type: 18.5h per week temporary for 5 months, or 22.5h per week temporary for 9 months.
This role is part of Housing Services in the East Area Team. The Housing Officer will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive service covering tenancy and estate management, including:
- Addressing tenancy breaches
- Anti‑social behaviour
- Liaising with Safer Neighbourhood Teams
- Supporting crime reduction
- Maintaining records
- Visiting tenants daily
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the delivery of tenancy and estate management services.
- Managing breaches of tenancy conditions and enforcing tenancy conditions.
- Co‑ordinating with local partners, Safer Neighbourhood Teams, and the public to reduce crime and disorder.
- Visiting tenants in their homes regularly and attending local meetings.
- Maintaining detailed, accurate records in computerised record systems.
- Planning, prioritising and meeting targets and timelines.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Sound knowledge of housing and estate management.
- Knowledge of housing and tenancy legislation, including legal grounds for enforcing tenancy conditions.
- Good understanding of Customer Care principles.
- IT literacy with experience updating computerised record systems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills both face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Experience of lone working and dealing with challenging situations.
