Overview

St Leger Homes are recruiting a Community caretaker to work within Housing Services in the North Area Team. The successful candidate will support the Estate Management Team and other agencies to provide an effective estate management service to residents, keeping all areas clean, tidy, safe and well maintained. To work to company policies and procedures, maintaining service standards at all times and ensuring that all performance targets are met. To work with minimum supervision and to be able to practically manage workloads. This work includes attendance in emergency situations when requested.

Responsibilities

  • Use plant and equipment provided by St Leger Homes, for estate management work, in accordance with legislation.
  • Ensure that tools and equipment are used safely at all times, and check that all plant and equipment is kept secure.
  • Carry out general gardening duties to both void and tenanted properties, including grass cutting, hedge trimming and minor pruning of trees.
  • Drive any vehicle in a responsible and safe manner following the guidelines provided by St Leger Homes ensuring that any concerns about maintenance are reported to the Team Leader and rectified.
  • Assist in the upkeep of all estates managed by St Leger Homes, including needle stick removal and safe disposal, litter picking, removing fly tipped waste, transporting specialist waste, removing graffiti, assisting with estate clean up days and any other tasks required to ensure that estates managed by St Leger Homes are kept up to standard, in line with Company guidelines and procedure.
  • Complete minor works on estates managed by St Leger Homes. This could include tasks such as putting up signage as requested by the Area Estate Management Team.
  • Use own initiative and proactively identify any caretaking tasks that need doing on an estate and ensure these tasks are completed.
  • Set up properties which will be used for temporary accommodation, this will include lifting and moving furniture in a safe manner.
