About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Farm Manager to join our well-established broiler poultry operation. Working closely with the Farm Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the farm, ensuring the highest standards of bird welfare, production efficiency, and biosecurity are consistently maintained. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced poultry professional looking to step into a senior operational role within a supportive and forward-thinking business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Farm Manager in the overall management and smooth running of the broiler unit
- Monitor bird health, welfare, and performance, taking prompt action where required
- Oversee feed, water, ventilation, and environmental systems to optimise growth conditions
- Manage and supervise farm staff
- Maintain accurate records including flock performance, mortality, medication, and feed usage
- Ensure full compliance with farm assurance schemes, biosecurity protocols, and health & safety regulations
- Carry out regular farm inspections and report any issues to the Farm Manager
- Step up to manage the farm in the absence of the Farm Manager
