Start: April 2026 – the post will cease when the permanent holder returns to duty or the position becomes vacant.

About the Department
Modern Foreign Languages is a cohesive team of eight members (full‑ and part‑time). The Head of Department is supported by one TLR post‑holder. Key Responsibilities
- Teach French and German to Key St 3 and Key St 4 pupils, applying the latest curriculum and assessment standards.
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons that encourage the development of language skills and cultural awareness.
- Collaborate with department colleagues to design cross‑curricular activities and share best practice.
- Engage with pupils’ parents and the wider school community to promote the importance of language learning.
- Maintain accurate teaching records and contribute to staff development plans.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified teacher or trainee teacher with a strong background in French and German.
- Experience teaching Key St 3 and Key St 4 is highly desirable.
- Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication skills and an inclusive, supportive attitude.
