A Domestic/Laundry Assistant is to ensure the clean, hygienic maintenance of the home, and to keep a high standard of appearance to contribute to the quality of care and lifestyle. You will also work as a Laundry Assistant to ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well-maintained laundry that is presented to the required standard.
Contract Type: Full Time
Contract Hours: 36 hours
Location: Kings Langley - St Lauras Care & Wellbeing
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Domestic Assistant:
- To clean allocated rooms including furniture, fittings, fabric, carpets and equipment.
- To uphold high standards of cleanliness, being mindful of the home's presentation.
- Where applicable to assist with bed making.
- To be aware of Health & Safety and COSHH policies and procedures.
- To clean sanitary and other equipment, in line with infection control policies.
- To efficiently manage the laundering of clothing and linen, thereby preventing unnecessary build-up.
- To ensure the laundry is identified for the correct loading of washer(s) and dryer(s).
- To have knowledge of wash and drying programmes for differing fabrics and separate accordingly.
- To ensure there is a regular stock of detergent and fabric conditioner.
- To be responsible for the maintenance of the laundry equipment and the regular de-fluffing of the dryer(s), reporting any defects to the Manager or Housekeeper.
